Guidelines for Submitting Calendar Items & Announcements to the Chronicle
Items to be included in the Community Calendar and/or detailed in the Events and Announcements section must take place in or be of concern to Cornwall only—no out of town events except for hazardous waste disposals or officially sponsored events/outings. Sponsoring organizations should be non-profit (501(c)(3)) or businesses involved in an activity beneficial to the community beyond routine money-making—no listings, for example, for unsponsored exercise classes or music instruction. Exceptions may be made for art openings and book signings.
For the print edition, please submit all items to both the editors of the relevant monthly issue on or before the 15th of each month (specific editors and their email addresses can be found on the Chronicle website; in case of doubt send email to email@example.com) and to the online calendar editor (email: firstname.lastname@example.org). Changes to listings or items received after the 15th will be posted to the online calendar but may not be included in the print edition.
Events and announcements must include date, time, location, sponsor, and a brief title or description. Except in the case of official government announcements, the Chronicle reserves the right to edit and condense descriptions so as to fit onto the last page of the print edition and into the community calendar. This calendar is updated continuously online and carried in the monthly print edition based on information available at press time. Selected events and announcements may also be posted on social media platforms used by the Chronicle and may include illustrative images submitted by event sponsors or commissioned or found by Chronicle editors.
